Welcome to the VWS Community!
The Parent Committee would love to help you in any way that you may need as you navigate your child’s new school and perhaps also this new city. If you have not already met a Parent Committee member, please reach out to vwspac@gmail.com to let us know that you have arrived.
We intend to build this page up with resources for newcomers over time, both with school tidbits, and resources related to the North Shore and BC. If you come across a resource that you found useful, please feel free to share it to the email address above so that we can add it to this page.
Connecting with other parents:
There is a coffee morning at the Lynn Valley campus on Fridays (check school calendar) after drop off for parents who want to connect.
Keep an eye on the PAC events page and school newsletter for other ways to connect.
Best sources for school news and events:
The school newsletter, emailed out on Fridays, is the best source for information. If you are not receiving it, please email communications@vws.ca
There is also a calendar on the vws.ca website if you’d like to look at what’s scheduled in future months.
Class Representatives:
Each class usually has a class representative (a parent who has volunteered to help be the conduit between the teacher and parents when assistance is required by the teacher). You should find out who your class representative is by asking other class parents or emailing vwspac@gmail.com. Your class representative will have some way that they prefer to message the class parents and it’s a good idea to ensure that you are added to their distribution list (e.g. Signal, Email, Group SMS etc).
